This year's competition features the most beautiful women worldwide, vying for the coveted sash and crown as Miss Universe. Before culminating its festivities, here are some trivia about the most prestigious pageant contest in the universe and fun facts about our country's pride for 2021, Rabiya Mateo.
- Rabiya Mateo will represent the Philippines in the 69th Miss Universe. She won the crown as the Miss Universe Philippines last 2020 along with Best Swimsuit in the preliminaries. Aside from being a certified beauty queen, Rabiya is also a licensed physical therapist.
- Entering this year's competition, the USA currently holds the most Miss Universe wins with eight crown holders, followed by Venezuela with seven, Puerto Rico with five, and the Philippines with four—with Catriona Gray as its last winner in 2018.
- Viewers can expect something new in this year's pageantry as Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo and celebrity host Mario Lopez take the mantle from Steve Harvey as its official hosts.
- Still, the record-holding country for the longest winning drought in the competition is France, with wins between 1953 and 2016—ending a 63-year wait for the crown.
- The main highlight of the competition is the Mouawad Power of Unity Crown, first introduced in 2019 by official jeweler Mouawad Jewelry. It boasts a Golden Canary Diamond weighing over 62 carats, symbolizing ambition, diversity, community, and beauty.
