Filipino Singer Sephy Francisco Impresses X Factor UK Judges with 2-in-1 Performance
September 20, 2018 02:33 PM
After the impressive audition of 17-year old Filipino Maria Laroco last week, The X Factor UK judges were once again left in awe by another Filipino voice. This time around, Sephy Francisco, a 27-year-old events singer, blew away the judges with her rendition of Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli’s “The Prayer.”
Coming to the stage donning a blue mid-length dress, long curled locks, and a pair of wedge heels, neither the judges nor the audience had expected the surprise Sephy had in store for them. By this time, it was par for the course hearing her smoothly belt out the high notes, previous Filipino talents having proved again and again their singing ability.
But it was when she just as flawlessly sang the male parts of the song, that both the audiences and the judges were mindblown. Sephy was showered with cheers and applause as she seamlessly transitioned between the female and male voices with hardly a sweat.
See her full performance here:
Sephy received a standing ovation from the audience, as well as the judges, with Simon Cowell giving her two thumbs up.
Judge Ayda uttered a big wow before she sat down. "Well that was a surprise!" she said.
"I've never judged a duo who is one person, it was incredible!" Judge Simon shared.
Prior to her performance, Sephy talked about drawing inspiration from powerhouse singers like Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, and Whitney Houston, when judge Robbie Williams asked whom she admires in the music world.
Unsurprisingly, Sephy received four yeses from the judges, and will move on to the next round of the competition with fellow Filipino contestant Maria Laroco.
Tune in to X Factor UK Season 15 and see these remarkable talents' performances first hand, as it airs first and exclusive, on Blue Ant Entertainment every Sunday and Monday at 7:55PM.
